Skate Trick Of The Week: Frontside Smith Grind

Trick tip 

Learning frontside 50-50s will make this trick a lot easier, so practise those first.

Step 1 

Approach the ramp on a slight angle as if you were doing a frontside turn or 50-50.

Step 2 

As you get close to the top, use your back foot to lift the nose and get your back trucks on the coping.

Step 3 

When your trucks hit the coping, drop your front foot down and point your toes while still leaning on your back foot, to force the grind.

Step 4

As your grind slows, use your back foot to push yourself off the coping and back into the ramp.
