Nothing takes the joy out of Christmas like worrying about what to get everyone. Luckily, we’ve got you covered. By pigeonholing all your loved ones into generic categories, we have come up with the perfect gift ideas to turn you from grinchy zero to Santa Claus hero in one fell Christmas shopping mission.

For the foodie

Let’s face it, Esperance used to be the foodie equivalent of no man’s land, and we’re very fortunate to be living in the new era. BJ’s Fruit & Veg has shelves packed with local products and imported gucci snacks alike, so there are no excuses when it comes to packing up the perfect gift hamper for your hungry friends. If cooking is more their thing, pop into Haslams Homewares and also South Coast Foodservice for the kitchen utensils of their dreams.

The house cat

There are plenty of these types around. Concert tickets would be wasted on this happy little homebody, so pop into The Book Box to get them a quality holiday read and some cute homewares, too. Also a good spot for kitschy homewares and interiors is Knots & Weaves Co, who stock the craft of plenty of local artisans.

The surfer

While we’re sure mothers everywhere will be stocking up on shark shields this festive season, grommets will always be stoked with a stocking full of board wax and some new fins. Skating has never been bigger in Esperance, so you could always kit them out with a new skatey from Innertube Surfshop to keep them busy while those summer swells are still MIA. For the mature surfer, consider an aerial tour of the coastline with Goldfields Air Services.

The fashionista

Everyone wants to look good at Christmas! But some people will always look better than the rest. Woven is chockablock full of divine creations from leading designers, and there are options to meet all budgets. Fashion is all about statement sunglasses lately, so it’d be worthwhile popping into It’s About Face for brands like Ray-Ban and Rodenstock. Speaking of stock, there are Birkenstocks in ESP Of Esperance and plenty of other fabulous kicks, too. And of course, as Christmas in Esperance is all about swimwear, so head into B Naturally You for their treasure trove of goodies.

The guest

Houses all over Esperance will be packed to the rafters with friends and family keen to escape the city and hit up our squeaky beaches. It’s always the more the merrier at Christmas, and there’s no better time to showcase our town. Load ‘em up with some local goodies like Yirri Grove olive oil, a Lucky Bay Brewing growler and some Hellfire Hot Sauce, and of course, an Esperance Tide tee! They’ll never want to leave.
