Autumn brings a wide range of seasonal produce, and at Taylor St Quarters, they’ve been working hard to deliver their brand-spanking-new tapas menu to the table. What you’ll see is a series of hearty and ‘manly but pretty’ dishes inspired by a bounty of fresh and local ingredients.

What are tapas, you say? Originating in Spain, restaurants began serving small, complimentary portions of food as coverings on top of the drinks they served, eventually evolving into its own, internationally-recognised style of cuisine. Today, tapas can refer to any small dish and can make the perfect share plates.

At TSQ, they’ve taken the style and feel of the traditional tapas experience and turned it into a way to enjoy a wide range of their delicious dishes in one meal, all while sharing with a couple of mates. In the hands of Chef Dean, plates include potato gnocchi with charred broccoli pesto and roast beetroot, rare Harvey beef with dried cherry tomato, shaved pecorino and lemon dukkha, patatas bravas with saffron aioli and smoked bacon crumb as well as jazzed-up old favourites like corn, jalapeño and cheddar croquettes and coconut and lime ceviche. Each dish is morish and full of flavour, no doubt you’ll be coming back for more.

Tapas suit the casual style of TSQ, where regulars come to enjoy a pint on Sundays while listening to live acoustics of local musos. With this smaller-sized-dish menu, it’s the perfect option for an after work drink or a shared dinner with friends.
